Ckeck out the well log at your right, which shows a segment of the São Sebastião Formation (K, Recôncavo Basin), one of the main aquifers in Bahia. The facies variability is noticiable by the profile colors and the log curves (blue = GR).

If this formation is so heterogeneous, how to map it? How to correlate? How to proceed to model an aquifer as complex and heteregenous ?

The solution my be labeled as applied sedimentology: the study of depositional systems focused on practical application - correctly interpreting each interval of the well profile, not only identifying the "formation", but identifying each set of facies and their respective depositional system.

Let's say the situation is this: it is necessary to make an adequate and high resolution correlation.

How to achieve this..?

Look it up here. ..

Why is it important? Because by making an adequate correlation, we have as a result a realistic depositional architecture , which is very useful when it comes to quantifying and qualifying reservoirs and aquifers.
